With our special programs for Professional Liability Insurance for accountants, pharmacists and lawyers, you can now feel safe and complacent as we insure professionals for their liability against their professional activity.

A prerequisite for the validity of the coverage provided is that the insured person holds the licenses required by the Greek Law for the legal exercise of his profession or business. If the above condition is not met, the insurance is invalid and the insured has no right to be compensated in case of damage.

Basic Coverage

Our affordable plans with a total insurance limit up to €1,000,000, depending on the activity, cover among others:

  • Professional responsibility
  • Loss of documents
  • Employee Infidelity
  • Slander and Defamation
  • Civil space liability
  • Third party damage from environmental damage
  • Fire, explosion, short circuit (including damage to neighbouring properties)

Professional Responsibility Extensions

In addition, the Insured Person’s Professional liability towards third parties for financial losses are covered when arising from:

Slander and defamation

The Insured person shall be covered for compensation resulting from slander and/or defamation against third parties, committed without malice, in writing or verbally, by him or any of his employees in the course of their activities.

In the event of a claim for slander or defamation, the insured person must, if the company so requests, take any action against the third party, which will be approved by it and will relate to the incident which caused the claim, with the aim of limiting the extent of the damage.

If, despite the company’s request, the insured refuses, the company will not be obliged to compensate the Insured for any expenses to be paid and/or compensation imposed after the date of such refusal.

Loss of documents

In an amendment to Special Exception 7 of Professional Liability, this coverage is extended to include the loss of documents.

The Insured’s liability to third parties is covered if during the course of insurance he discovers that certain documents (as specified below) belonging to third parties and under his care or control, in the normal course of his activities, have been destroyed, worn out, placed in an unknown place or lost and cannot be identified after careful search. In this case, the Company compensates the Insured for:

(a) his civil liability to his principal as a result of the destruction, damage, loss or inability to find such documents;

(b) the costs incurred by the Insured for the replacement or restoration of such documents, including the cost of restoring computer files;

In no case may the cost, as referred to in paragraphs (a) and (b), exceed the insured amount of the loss of documents, as stated in the “Company Coverage & Liability Limits Table”.

Exceptions:

The Insured will not be compensated:

If the damage is the result of gradual wear, tearing, pest effect or gradual degradation, as a result of climatic or atmospheric conditions or extreme temperatures.
For damage due to the presence of magnetic flux or loss of magnetism.
For damages directly or indirectly caused by or through or as a result of seizure or nationalisation or requisition or destruction or damage to property by or in order of any governmental or public or local authority.

Employee infidelity

The Company will compensate the Insured for financial damage of third parties if he becomes responsible for it, as a result of fraud/infidelity of its employees, in order to cause damage in order to make themselves illegal profit in the performance of their duties, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Penal Code.

A prerequisite for the validity of the coverage and the payment of compensation is:

Fraud/infidelity to take place during the insurance period.
These employees shall be in the service of the Insured for at least one year
The Insured shall not be the same offender or have participated in the fraud/infidelity.
The Company’s liability is limited to the individual limit stated in the “Company Insurance & Liability Limits Table” for this coverage, which is included in the total liability limit and in no way increases it.

Employer liability

In accordance with the General Terms of the Civil Liability Insurance Agreement and the terms stated in the Insurance Policy, in so far as they are not amended by this special condition, the Company shall cover the liability of the Insured person, in his capacity as an employer, towards the employee under a legal contract of employment of his employees, in the event of personal injury and/or death, by accident that occurred during or on the occasion of the employment, by the negligence of the Insured person or his employees.
